抱負・夢

現在、日本人の2人に1人が癌で死ぬ時代になっております。
その中で、消化器癌の占める割合は約半数を占め、その大半が手術不能進行癌です。これらの癌に戦いを挑み、制御、治癒に貢献したいと思っています。
本邦ではこれらに積極的に関わる臨床癌研究部門が立ち遅れていることは明白であり、北海道はこの部分で遅れている場面も多々あるように思えます。
北海道が本邦において癌治療後進国にならず、逆に先進国となるよう積極的に全国的な新薬の開発治験や臨床試験に関わっていき、将来的には新薬は最初に北海道で使えるような状況にしたいと考えています。
現在、北大病院腫瘍センターに籍があり、消化器内科と密に連携がとりやすい状態にあるため、消化器がんを中心に、即臨床に生かせる様な研究を中心に進めて行きたいと考えています。
現在、消化器癌治療の臨床研究をするためのグループ北海道消化器癌化学療法研究会（HGCSG）のメンバーとも協力し、数々の臨床研究を行ってきています。
グループの目標は、がん制御のための、標準的化学療法の確立です。すでにHGCSGで開発された進行大腸癌治療であるIRIS療法は、2010年にLancet Oncologyに掲載されたFIRIS studyをもって、 2012年には欧州臨床腫瘍学会（ESMO）ガイドラインに掲載され、2014年には本邦の大腸癌治療ガイドラインにも掲載され、はれて北海道発の標準治療となりました。
さらにIRISに抗VEGF抗体薬の上乗せを検証するTricolore試験の結果も公表され、新たなEBMの貢献もできました。今後も、グループ、腫瘍センター、消化器内科のメンバーと協力しながら、 引き続きガイドラインとなる様な標準治療の開発並びに、北海道のがん医療の啓蒙に尽力していきたいと考えています。
